€6bn or €7bn Adjustment

Did the minister for finance and the government really pressurise the department of finance officials to reduce the required adjustment from €7bn to €6bn as was claimed by the opposition?

Around the time of the FF ard fheis Cowen and Lenihan were interviewed seperately Lenihan said 3 billion but possibly higher
Cowen was interviewed (before his night out) and was pressed by the RTE reporter would it be 3 or 3 and a half to which he said he didnt envision it being that high, did anyone else hear this? Im currently trying to locate it on pod cast its hard to find maybe it was even newstalk

The required adjustment is 17bn. Dont mind the lies from the DoF.

Sorry I should have been clearer, the Dof were pushing for €7bn adjustment in the upcoming budget but the government told them to say only €6bn was required.
