AIB / BOI providing staple finance to NAMA?

Sat in on a meeting in London this morning with a client (Irish guy living over here for years, always did well for himself). The conversation turned to NAMA and apparently BOI have been asked by NAMA (via the dept of Finance strongarm) to start providing “liquidity” for NAMA property. Those clients wishing to purchase foreclosed properties from NAMA are being directed to BOI and AIB for staple financing. Apparently outside of London nothing is moving for NAMA and the same can be said for Ireland.

There is a deal that I have heard of in Dublin whereby BOI are providing debt to a client to purchase an asset off NAMA that was transferred into them from BOI!!

This is crazy stuff.
