Bad news for the tourist trade

GB, Failte Ireland has been pushing the Irish tourist industry a lot more than usual lately, between getting people not to litter the place (or trying) and recognising that being nice to tourists is good for the economy and also, stay at home rather than travelling.

I’m of the opinion that this means a couple of things a) they know we’ve priced ourselves out of the mass tourism market b) they know that the economy needs a gee up (one of last year’s poster campaigns implied that without tourism the Celtic Tiger would have been a Celtic cat) and c) the cost of invisible imports is starting to hurt.
