Anyone know where I could get the info on carrying out a BER without actually doing the course? All I seemed to find on google was a glut of assessors

I think so. I downloaded the software years ago but I never really bothered with it myself. Never had a need for it on projects.
Most of the professionals (e.g. architects & engineers) I know who did BERs have quit.
Too much work for too little money.
It got quite competitive alright. It’s one of those jobs that if you do them all day every day you get pretty quick at it but if you just do one out of your own self interest (or worse still as a favour for someone) it takes ages to figure out and be confident that you’ve done it properly.
