Beverton, Donabate

A number of different sized/specc’d units at between 240-300k which strikes me as “affordable” for the median Dublin salary. Transport links to Dublin aren’t great and seems relatively expensive compared to better connected, more established areas.

What do other think?

Some of the parts of the brochure seem like bubble gimmicks - €500 tiling allowance, €1500 fireplace allowance. Just take 2k off the price! That stuff worked when people were borrowing as much as they could and then some.

Seems pretty well connected to Dublin with the northern commuter line. Also, there is currently a widening of the M1 taking place, which will provide 3 lanes up the Donabate exit.

It’s been the subject of a few drive-bys for us and the transport seems ok. We’re more walk on the beach followed by dinner and a glass of wine at home than night on the tiles in the city centre so we don’t worry about distance. We live in Dublin 5 right now and would go out in town no more than 5/6 times a year. Even when we lived in town, we didn’t go out much.

The thing is though, we worry about being happy in an ordinary 3/4 bed semi, with suburban-sized gardens if we’re that far out. We’d be likely to go further north and go for something detached with a better garden that is reasonably close to being one-off. However, the options up around Rush, Skerries aren’t always so close to the train as the Donabate options.
