I would say that would take a change of law, we do have title insurance but the problem you have is the Law Society would be up in arms on their members behalf because they make a fortune from this and have had a closed shop for years. I suppose there would have to be changes made re cost of searches because these can be a big part of the conveyencing cost but even if these remained and the solicitors fee were reduced it would still be a saving.
But they serve no practical purpose in the transaction.
