I’m Dublin, so I know a small number. Some seem normal, some are alcoholics, some seem to treat it as an extension of a rugby club type thing. Some I suspect (in work) to be in it (don’t know for certain but with their connections they must be) are narcissistic shits who get away time and again with being absoute shits (how I woke up tbh). One that I used to be in a choir with posted a photo of a fire in his back garden on Baeltaine. The more I learn of them the more they give me the creeps, although I think the reports of only 10% of them actually having a clue, with the real core being hidden deeper within, are probably true.

They tend not to like to work for anyone (after all we’re profane), so they either sole/joint manage small companies (or Irish branches of international companies) or run their own small business (posh-types pretending not to be in trades related to construction is a giveaway) with that all important 12.5% rate (1/8th, get it?). They leave clues around in their management role such as curious long-standing (fraternal) arrangements with other small business owners/contractors and odd pass codes to get into buildings, if you catch my drift.

Government of Ireland Act 1920

65 Special provisions as to Freemasons

(1)It is hereby declared that existing enactments relative to unlawful oaths or unlawful assemblies in Ireland do not apply to the meetings or proceedings of the Grand Lodge of free and Accepted Masons of Ireland, or of any lodge or society recognised by that Grand Lodge.

(2)Neither the Parliament of Southern Ireland, nor the Parliament of Northern Ireland shall have power to abrogate or affect prejudicially any privilege or exemption of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons in Ireland, or any lodge or society recognised by that Grand Lodge which is enjoyed either by law or custom at the time of the passing of this Act, and any law made in contravention of this provision shall, so far as it is in contravention of this provision, be void.

Didn’t realise it was written into law.

Not surprised. My place probably has CEO, SMT & specific posts all in the club. In retrospect the only reason I probably got a job there is my background/school, my dad has friends who are FM but was never interested in joining. We got brought up fairly naive of clubs & politics, with a strong religious ethos and a belief that the world was imperfect but mostly a meritocracy (hah!).

Update to the AG setting the FBI on uppity parents.

Surprise surprise.

Looking like the usual psyop:

It’s certainly possible this is political theatrics, and she’s a planted ‘whistleblower’, with the ultimate objective to create a regulatory moat to hobble new entrants into that market segment (where you yammer on about your life online like for instance “an ontology-based (sub)system that captures, stores, and makes accessible the flow of one person’s experience in and interactions with the world in order to support a broad spectrum of associates/assistants and other system capabilities”).

#579

Yes indeed - What is Lifelog?

Meanwhile, is it normal for the White House visitor logs to go no further than June or is there a filter or something interacting with the data?

#580

Maybe not as extensive but…

@jmc posted something about ferry staffing somewhere on the forum, adding to this, not sure this shutdown story got coverage anywhere, from yesterday:

Is there a media blackout on last night’s air traffic controller walkout in Jacksonville, FL?

Hundreds of flights canceled.

Walkout due to vax mandate

Reading about more pushback from Airline sector in the US.

Southwest canceled more than 2,000 weekend flights and the disruption continues - CNN

They blamed the weather, air traffic control problems, and staff shortages.

#584

This is becoming an existential crisis for Biden and even the concept of Technocratic Government. They’re trying to manage something that’s unmanageable. “Fighting Against” COVID is an unwinnable war as much as Afghanistan was.

They try to blame unvaxed for as much as they can but it’s not enough to hide their ineptitude.

#585

And now this… some carnage among aviation industry employees.

From my dad who is a pilot about the current situation with Southwest airlines
