Coolfadda goes to Supreme Court to redefine insolvency law

A Cork property firm is taking a Supreme Court case in an effort to redefine insolvency law.

The owners of Coolfadda Developers are asking the state’s highest court to allow the company to remain in provisional liquidation for an indefinite period, in order to allow it to complete eight major developments across the south of the country.

Coolfadda, which is based in Bandon, went into provisional liquidation earlier this month, after suffering from the sharp decline in the construction sector and the restriction of bank finance.
