About the Speaker:
In 1990, Mr. Brawn began working for the Economics & Strategy Group at Barclays de Zoete Wedd (BZW, now Barclays Capital) as Econometrician responsible for Bond Yield & Equity market models. In 1993 Mr. Brawn moved to James Capel & Co., a division of HSBC Markets, to work in Equity & Derivatives Research. Two years later he joined Fixed Income at SBC Warburg and worked in Credit Research & built Corporate Bond indices. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Brawn was recruited by Morgan Stanley as Vice-President for European Corporate Strategy, covering all non-government EUR & GBP bond markets, as well as credit related structured products e.g. CLNs, CLOs & CDOs. 2000- 2002 Returned to UBS Warburg and was Director of European Credit Strategy, covering Investment Grade Credit, Swaps & Credit Derivatives e.g. Credit Default Swaps, Basket Swaps etc. During 2002-2006 Mr. Brawn lived in Spain and was self-employed, while in 2007 (Jan-Jul) became Head of Research at Savills Ireland covering both Residential & Commercial property. In 2008-09 Mr Brawn wrote a book on the Irish property bubble called “Ireland’s House Party” and from October 2009 produces a weekly private client newsletter (covering Equity markets, Bonds, Commodities, Currencies & ETFs which goes out each Monday to a distribution list of 700 people) called Markets Note, for GlobalReach Securities Ltd., Baggot St, Dublin 2
