Empties in Dublin? Surely not!!
I saw a Pre63 building that Camelot were taking care of security for and it seemed to be quite free of obvious vandalism etc…however even as a student I would have felt that the rooms were shall we say “basic”…however they are obviously cheap and will fill a need for both securing the buildings and hopefully housing people that need it…
Maybe an alternative would be to sell the places to people that want to actually want to live in and/or to rent them out… it’s a great ad for the Camelot services I must say… they almost come across as a charity service!
Hardly. They have their hands in the pockets of both owners and the occupiers and are getting rent on properties that would otherwise be unrentable. If they could be rented under a normal tenancy, they obviously would be given the price difference but here they can get money from people to live in uninhabitable kips without a tenancy agreement and make money from it. Not saying it’s not helping people of limited means find a place to stay, but they’re no charity.
Stepaside Garda Station is one of there properties…
