Earth Lockdown - "Climate Change", the final move to enslave the world real good

EVs doing a good job of burning capital it appears.

Given the torrid pace of online retail sales the last two years, I was a bit skeptical when I saw this headline. But once I got a few sentences into the piece I saw the reason for Amazon’s stock slide.

EVs are just one industry whose lifeblood is zero percent interest. Now that we are moving in the opposite direction, investors can look forward to even more losses.

The company attributed the loss largely to a $7.6 billion loss from its investment in electric automaker Rivian Automotive. Rivian, into which Amazon led a $700 million investment in 2019, has seen its stock plummet more than 75% since its blockbuster November 2021 IPO.

The Amazon loss came the day after Ford, another early investor in Rivian, took a $5.4 billion pre-tax charge related to that investment, resulting in Ford reporting a $3.1 billion net loss for the first quarter.

Uganda President Yoweri Museveni lauded the discovery of oil in Lake Albert, but noted it was a battleground for the green NGOs and activists who claim that Armageddon is nigh at every opportunity.

“We are accustomed to these lectures, but we are tired of hearing them,” he added.

Doing away with anesthetics would be a great start. Or not operating at all if say above a certain age.:dipso:

" Vail, Colorado concluded its skiing season on May 1 a year after the Denver Post warned that “climate change is shrinking the Colorado ski season”.

It’s almost as if some higher power has made a point of mocking doomsday predictions by climate pagans who think the weather can be changed by raising taxes and driving Teslas.

But like a Gore-Tex parka, the climate consensus is impermeable to mere snowfall.

A week after Vail Mountain announced that it was extending its skiing season for “the longest continuous season in Vail Mountain history” just after 9 inches of snow fell in early March, a local news station wondered, “With warmer winters, what will happen to the ski industry?”

It may have to extend to June.

In February 2022, Denver broke weather records to hit the coldest temperature in 109 years. At a balmy -7 degrees, the latest outbreak of global warming plunged the city down to a low that had not been seen since 1899.

Still not done mocking Al Gore, March temperatures at Denver International Airport broke a new low with -3. The last time that happened was 1932. Or back before Gore Sr. had even graduated from law school to begin his family’s long slimy political career.

Talk about an inconvenient truth."

The Coldest April in the Satellite Record over the Pacific Northwest

Unlike some other issues which have become more and more ridiculous over the years the claims of global warming / climate change has always been utterly specious.
I was reminded of this from 7 years ago:

Although no politician in 2015 would have stood up and said turf burning was broadly responsible for death and we would all live forever if we got our heat from Tarbert heavy oil burning station instead.

Yep you can’t win with these folk. Snow - extreme weather event, hot spell - extreme weather event, mild - proves global warming effect as we we used to have more variations, where’s me season gone, etc., etc

and the deaths from turf, died with turf or from turf?

According to the BBC, global warming has made our weather more extreme.

Perhaps they would like to go back to the weather of the Maunder Minimum:

Summer convertible so.

They got millions worth of free product placement in the news cycle, and people still won’t eat the crap.

Just wait until they apply MUP to meat. (For your own good, and the good of the environment.) The precedent has been set now.

Further scientific evidence that global warming starting to run out of steam over two decades ago has been presented by an international group of leading scientists. In a major re-evaluation of data from meteorology balloons rising through the troposphere, the scientists confirmed that temperatures have mostly paused since around 1998. The discovery can only add to pressure to re-open the so-called ‘settled science’ debate around global warming and the central part it plays in the 30-year rush towards Net Zero.
