Estate agent - he sometimes speak with forked tongue (Indo)

Thursday July 19 2007

ANYONE who is remotely interested in the residential property market (98.46pc of us said the recent Census) will have noticed that it is currently less a buyer’s market than a vendor’s bloodbath.

Still, surely no need to be as obvious about rapidly falling prices as the estate agent who this week placed the following in The Irish Times ‘Houses for Sale’ columns.

‘Booterstown. Spacious 2 rec, Lge Kit, 4 Beds, 2 Baths, Integral Garage, Side Entrance. €1,050,000’.

Only problem was that on the same day - in the same columns, on the same page - was the following.

‘Booterstown. Spacious 2 rec, Lge Kit, 4 Beds, 2 Baths, Integral Garage, Side Entrance. €950,000’.

Ouch! Talk about hinting that the vendor may be in a bit of a hurry to sell!

Guess who will have move their price!
