Good luck to the litigants on this one - Rory O’Donnell is a past vice-President of the Law Society who had the smarts to sell his business to the Brits in early 2007. Eversheds -O’Donnell-Sweeney is by far the largest commercial property law firm in the State.

A FIRM of solicitors is “fully resisting” a claim against it for up to €47m in damages over alleged negligence in advice it gave about a hotel development site.
Solicitors sued for €47m over alleged negligent advice in property deal
Thomas Hayden and his sons Wayne and Paul claim they have been humiliated by the faith they placed in their solicitors, Eversheds, O’Donnell Sweeney, Earlsfort Centre, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin, over the proposed development of the La Touche Hotel site in Greystones, Co Wicklow.
…
The Haydens say they have seen their family assets taken over by a receiver and have been “totally embarrassed” in their home town of Greystones about the state of the La Touche premises and the failure of the proposed development of the site.
AIB appointed a receiver over the hotel in May 2008.
They claim no development works ever commenced at the site and, as a result, they lost their expected share of €17.6m profits and the opportunity to sell the premises for between €22m and €30m.
