Ordnance Survey + Land Registry to be subsumed into property registration ( ? ) go figure , there is weird empire building going on there.

Possible new quango required? Who will enforce it?
Pfft, the CIF of course.
Oh right. That’s that sorted so
But the background is more to do with the whole massive state and its financial arm (the banks) fuc*ing around with house prices and allowing yearly double digit increases in cost of property. This being the (Useless and corruption inducting (see Mahon tribunal)) Planning Acts and the fairly useless Building Regulations and mostly uselss Building Control Regulations under the Building Control Acts.
Anyhow, the big deal is that there will be new Building Control Regulations coming into play on 1st March 2014.
I conservatively estimate that this may place an extra cost burden of about 5,000 to 10,000 euros on your average small useless semi-detached house building cost or about the guts of 10,000 on a decent reasonable sized (160m2) detached family home.
Get started by 1st March 2014 to avoid these costs.
That means getting your planning application in now to the most useless tribe of public servants that exists within the statist nation that has become Direland.
