Galway Builder Prosecuted over Pension Anomalies

A Mr David Denton of 3D Restoration and Construction Ltd in Galway has been prosecuted for not paying over his staff pension deductions .

The Pensions Ombudsman is warning employers that failure to comply with his investigations could result in a criminal conviction.

It comes as a Galway builder, David Denton, Director of 3D Restoration and Construction Ltd of Barnaderg, was prosecuted at Tuam District Court today for failing to comply with the Ombudsman’s investigations.

The Ombudsman Paul Kenny took legal proceedings against Mr Denton after he failed to comply with his request for payroll documentation.

The request was made while Mr Denton was under investigation following allegations that pensions deductions he made from wages were not remitted to the Construction Workers Pensions Scheme.

It might be a good idea for other building workers to check that their employers (or indeed ex employers on today, Black Friday, are compliant .
