Guardian - Traders predict house prices will fall by 50%

As bad as that scenario will play out in the UK, with the current housing market crash set to be worse than that of the early 1990s, things will be considerably worse here in Ireland, where we allowed an obscene house price bubble to develop, buoyed up by wildly irrational sentiment, reckless lending, inappropriate tax incentives and spiralling land costs.

When the dust eventually settles, Ireland may well go down in economics and history textbooks as the worst case scenario of a property crash to ever happen in the world.

Well we certainly did put a lot of effort into pumping up the bubble.

10/10 to all the VIs. You did a great job. You should be very proud of the mess you’ve helped to create.

I am inclined to agree.
