Does anyone know how long it should take to buy out the ground rent on a property? We instructed (and paid) a solicitor to do so when we bought a house in 2013. I check in with him every six months or so and he sends me a defensive update saying that it is still in progress and this is just how long it takes. Is it time to threaten the Law Society?
I don’t know the answer to your question but it took several years in my case and I remember a neighbour being jealous that ours was progressing so quickly
