I’ll say one thing for those centres, I can now go into Dublin City Centre on the weekends and I have the place almost to myself.

That’s a little unfair, the Ilac centre has a good library.
It used to have a big balloon that went up

It should have been a protected structure.
That was deadly… I remember being brought in to go up in Irelands first Bubble lift… A SPECIAL TREAT …
Ilac centre library:
- full of smelly homeless people
- dodgy green carpet
- 1980s selection of computer books
I think it is good for company records and like like…
oh, and these people are called “Librarians”
One thing I quickly noticed about the Dundrum centre is that it has 10 shoe shops but not a single book shop that I have found (the Easons newsagent doesn’t count). I suppose they’re only responding to demand.
I remember that. It was quite the treat alright.
Ah yes, the memories. For a young lad like myself, coming up from the country, a fantastic library like that was a real treat, compared to the ones at home.
