Man who ‘entered Ireland illegally’ allegedly smashed bottle over man’s head in Talbot Street attack

A man smashed a bottle over another man’s head before dragging him across a street in an attack in central Dublin, it is alleged.
Balkioosn Gujudhar (33) is also accused of brandishing the bottle towards a woman who tried to intervene in the assault on Talbot Street, a court heard.
The accused claimed he was a tourist but gardaí maintain he is illegally in the State after “circumventing” immigration application procedures.
Mr Gujudhar, of no fixed address, is charged with assault causing harm to a man and producing an implement capable of inflicting serious injury.
