Nature sorts out empties in Loughrea

I was told that an estate of about 25 empties in Loughrea picked up 20 sets of burst pipes in the attic when the thaw set in yesterday. The council was wandering around looking for burst pipes and have cut it all off now.

When insulating your attic you need to lag the pipes too.

Otherwise its pointless.

Pointless anyway, if the house is vacent with no heat.

Galway county council has issed the following warning about one part of connemara owing to the amount of dodgy plumbing that burst in recent times in empty houses.

*Most water loss is evidently INDOORS now.

Now I can see the point of the €200 charge for second homes
