At the outset it was comforting to know that it wouldn’t be pot luck with regard to maintenance, etc. There was a 24-hour number to call if things went wrong. A fridge went and was replaced as soon as practical.

We had problems with a noisy neighbour which we couldn’t resolve in person. We kept a log and took it to the management company. They were able to threaten non-renewal of contract if it didn’t stop. It seemed to work. This kind of thing would be impossible in separately-owned and -managed apartments.
