The Progressive Democrats are pledging to immediately reform stamp duty on houses if they form part of the next Government.
Launching their pre-election economic proposals today, the PDs said they would make changes to the stamp-duty regime before the Dáil breaks up for the summer
Will FF run with this , or possibly are the PDs thinking of ditching FF for FG/LAB.
Either way it looks quite likely now that the Stamp Duty issue will be cleared up before the summer. Once this is cleared up and prices don’t rise , then we can sit back and watch the full on crash in the autumn.
There will be nothing left to keep people in denial, no SD changes no SSIA money.
No Jobs, No immigrants , no renyters , no buyers etc etc Blah, Blah, Blah…
Considering it’s been such a controversial topic for so long I suppose no one will question why they are suddenly pledging immediate action on stamp duty…immediatly before an election
“The Progressive Democrats are pledging to immediately reform stamp duty on houses if they form part of the next Government.”
Did i miss something, because as far as i was aware the PD’s are a tiny party with a handfull of TD’s with the power to do SFA unless FF wish it so.
So why is everybody jumping to their tune !.
Don’t be surprised if FF/PD’s try to steal the oppositions thunder and move on stamp duty before the election is called. Could give them a temporary boost and get them over the line.
If I were their strategist I would first want SD to be well and truly blamed for the market collapse. Then I’d ‘fix’ it just before the election so the evidence doesn’t show that he market is dead anyway.
