Quango cuts: 177 bodies to be scrapped under coalition plans

Nah, not in Ireland

Quango cuts: 177 bodies to be scrapped under coalition plans

One hundred and seventy-seven taxpayer-funded bodies are to be abolished under Coalition plans seen by The Daily Telegraph.

If this was done in Ireland, the staff would be reassigned and we wouldn’t save a penny.

Probably cost more as we’d have to pay for re-location compensation. :unamused:

Nahh, there is a big government office in Birr, another in Youghal and another in Clifden. We move the ‘quango resolution corporation’ offices down there and pay them nuthin.

They will leave of their own accord fairly sharpish.

Can we open a FAS office in Kabul ? :nin

eh, the whole point of a quango is that they are not public servants, cut the budget and there is no money to pay the wages, expenses, directors, PR etc , it just disappears, end of. Win win for everybody, except the quango filler’s of course.

Intersting approach. Could Irish politicians be persuaded to take this kind of responsibility…?
