Lots of good stuff here for those looking to know where we are in our current cycle and when we might come out of the slump. Yer man states the average downturn from a real estate bubble is 6 years. However, Ireland approached Japanese levels of bubbleness, so I think a ten year slump is much more likely. The good news is that we’re now 5 years into the slump, so hang onto your hats for selling season 2016?
…and no two bubbles are the same. Ireland far more exposed to global macro than Japan - which could lead to a short drop - particularly in Dublin where a lot of people have a lot of above average income.
