The Tipperary Bank was run by 2 Tipp Brothers, the Sadleirs . Both were elected as MPs as it happens. Its collapse, while inevitable, was caused by the abrupt end of a long running bubble in Railway Building .
The Bank collapsed in a welter of fraud and misinvestment and its collapse was the greatest financial scandal that beset the UK in the decade following the Great Famine.
