WIW - Strawberry Hill, Raheen, Brittas, West Co. Dublin

Nice house, but its fairly isolated and there’s not much going on in Brittas, albeit a beautiful location. There’s better value out there for that size house on that kind of land, where you might be closer to civilisation, particularly in North Kildare and the bordering Wicklow areas like Dunlavin. I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole for that kind of wonga. Also, its a bit 70-s chic. In the bad way.

It looks like Southfork in Tallaght!

Just kidding. The trek towards the Ballinascorney gap, up Glenasmole and onto the Featherbeds from there is (IMHO) easily one of the most beautiful and tranquil parts of the country.

think there is a chicken farm nearby - cant find out much about it though.

how would i go about doing some due diligence if i was interested in buying - e.g. would i be able to get copy of original plans from country council, what sorts of things should i be looking out for in terms of buying a one off type house like this?

cheers for posting - out of curiosity, any examples of what you would consider better value that might be out there at moment?
