I heard that the EA said that the price was €4,250,000 at peak.

So it is a drop of 4.25m to 1.69m a whopping 2.56m reduction which is over 60%!!!

All I can say about that is the EA was and still is f**kin deluded. Would not be spending this kind of wedge to live here.

I'm interested to know too. This thing had been knockingvabout for almostbasblong as it took me to buy abhouse. Thought this should have been at 995 to sell about two years ago. They might have got a bit more now given the bounce but surely way off the asking. Could suit someone with 7 or more kids nicely though and about 300-400k for a refurb

The buyer of this did a nice job. Curiously, it seems that the buyer (a very wealthy business person) actually bought both:

i) 24 Butterfield Drive for €1,250,000 on 31 Jan 2014
ii) 23 Butterfield Drive for €1,401,000 on 3 Oct 2014

Dropping €2.65m on a single street in Rathfarnham in 2014 was no easy feat! Amazing that they were able to snap up two so unusually good properties on the same street. Certainly spent another 7 figure sum on 7,000sqft+ of extensions and renovations of the existing houses, bringing it to €4-5m all in easy.

Both are now absolutely magnificent. 24 Butterfield Drive has been totally extended and renovated, now with 5,770sqft of space. 23 Butterfield Drive is out-of-this-world and is now a colossal 8,816sqft - a pretty insane size for this part of the world, but he can definitely afford it!
