Ex-Nama official facing trial for leaking information
Paul Pugh (56) charged with intentionally disclosing confidential information by email
Quote:
A former Nama employee is facing trial accused of leaking confidential information.
Paul Pugh (56), who has an address at Clontarf Road in Dublin is charged with disclosing confidential information contrary to Section 7 of the 2009 National Asset Management Agency Act.
He appeared before Judge Michael Walsh at Dublin District Court.
Detective Garrett Lynch of the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation gave evidence of arresting Mr Pugh by appointment at Pearse Street Garda station on Wednesday.
Judge Michael Walsh remanded Mr Pugh on bail in his own bond of €1,000 to appear again before the district court on July 27th when it is expected the State will serve him with the book of evidence.
The DPP has directed trial on indictment. Under the terms of his bail, Mr Pugh must sign on every Monday at Clontarf Garda Station between 9am and 9pm.
His charge states that on or about June 6th in 2012, at a location within the State, he intentionally disclosed by email to a named individual at Connaught and Whitehall Capital UK Ltd confidential information relating to McCabe Builders (UK) Ltd, and he was not authorised or obliged to do so.

On this subject, it is apparently now required by NAMA for people buying from NAMA-backed developments in receivership to sign a declaration that they are not in any way connected to the receiver. One wonders what precedents made this a requirement now.

I had to sign something like that over a year ago, I do not think this is new

edit: Had to sign that have no connections to previous owners whoever they are

If you're caught lying do they scowl at you severely?

No, you'd most likely get a scowl suspended for two years.
