Report it to the DCC Fire officer
If there is an immediate risk to life then all units would need to be de-tenanted immediately

TI previously posted that the large block at the front was at one time earmarked for the new NMH but the IDA wanted it for fictional FDI clients, so it remains vacant and a new NMH is being built next door in Vincents.

It originally had planning as a hotel.

An example of the importance of fire safety;

Chinese apartment building bursting into flames in 30 seconds

Astonishing, you know how fast fire can spread but to see it on that scale

In fairness now, Mick Clifford is right to keep hammering on.
I discovered this little nugget though
President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin bought two apartments in Longboat Quay in 2006, for ~€1.2m. Crazy money for 'flats'!

Drivetime yesterday eve played an old interview with Bernard McNamara from just after the bust.
Gas to listen to.
Said he could always stand over anything he had built and was going to do his best to pay off all he owed. Interview must have been before he ran off to the Queen.

Anyways an interview with a resident of the Apts on The Last Word was tough listening from that guys perspective. He said he walks by the site on Stephen's Green where McNamara is now back building and how it sickens him so.
Matt Cooper was well annoyed about it all too and was wondering if the Guards ever get involved in anything of this nature in Ireland

This get out of jail secrecy card BS that NAMA waves about has to be gotten rid of
http://www.rte.ie/news/2015/1001/731693-longboat/
Quote:
NAMA chief executive Brendan McDonagh, meanwhile, has told the Dáil Public Accounts Committee that the agency has spent "multi millions" fixing serious issues with another major block built by Longboat Quay developer Bernard McNamara.
A spokesperson for NAMA said it was not disclosing the name of the development.

The sad thing is that Bernard McNamara probably didn't know the building was missing fire stops, etc.
The sickening thing is hundreds of builders on the site did

Norman Campbell, fire protection inspector, was on Liveline saying that this is just the tip of the iceberg. He mentioned Belmayne as he did a 'fire stopping' report on it. He said that in his view 90% of boomtime developments have fire safety issues.
